Alps Carsharing For Freedom and merge!

Alps and Carsharing For Freedom, carsharing Grenoble and Chambery / Aix-les-Bains are merging to create a cooperative society collective interest (SCIC), which allows local communities to participate in the capital at 20%. It is this structure that is in place in Strasbourg (Auto'trement) or Lille (Lilac Carsharing).

This merger marks a further step towards the concentration of car-sharing activities announced in France, especially since the arrival of big companies like Hetz, Avis and perhaps the SNCF and RATP Project Autolib in Paris. Also note the development of society Alsatian Auto'trement beyond its historical borders with the creation of a new CICS Besançon (service starts in autocitations March 2010).
This trend has been observed in countries precursors (Mobility, single operator in Switzerland or Zipcar, the world leader with hundreds of thousands of subscribers in the U.S.) could face the diversity of local situations and multiplicity of actors. If the model is developed CICS (Alsace, Lille ,...), found associations (Loire Carsharing), boards (Otolis Poitiers) or DES (Autolib in Lyon).
