Within The Cars That , we believe the news, the media and politicians focus too much on single environmental pillar of sustainable development which has yet two more "economic" and "social". If the thesis of Allegre proved true, and if a new energy, totally green, fell from the sky by some miracle, we would not have done so far with the car consumer space (at the expense of green space or bike lanes), noisy, expensive and insecure (possession, use, time lost in traffic jams)!
short, the electric car will not save us, alas. European researchers are unanimous (in a near Mammoth): the only advanced Technology will not respond in the best case, only 50% reduction targets in greenhouse gas emissions on the continent (- 20% in 2020). We must therefore encourage, educate, provide alternative investment. Injury, the French recovery plan emphasizes the car and the road ... What an anachronism!

Towards a concentration of mobility activities?
another 2-3 years ago, new mobility services (car sharing, car pooling ,...) interest only to users: little presence of local, small operators (many of associations), image-bo bo ...
And then there was Vélov / Vélib, the Grenelle Environment Autolib, opinion polls ... And speaking of sustainable mobility is now to be in it! In parallel, the great mobility that operators are major rental car companies and operators of public transport, have entered the market potential that lies before them and the possible complementarity with their traditional business. And communities, through Grouping of Transport Authorities (GART) to require the integration of all skills related to urban mobility in the intercommunal (and also road transport, bicycles, parking, taxis, car sharing, CarPool ,...) the famous authorities organizer of sustainable mobility (AOMD).
The lines are moving so ... The SNCF
is in first with the announcement in October 2008 for the purchase of licenses of Paris taxis to better serve its stations. Commissioned in 2009. SNCF goes further by investing in the market for car sharing and carpooling:
- She joins Notices and Vinci, manager of car-sharing service OKIGO Paris since 2007, and the RATP in anticipation of the response to the call for proposals Autolib Paris (if it is a reality .... see our review on the subject ). Transdev, a subsidiary of Caisse des Depots, acquired in late 2008 Caisse Commune, the first car sharing company in France based in Paris and has positioned itself on the tender of the town hall Autolib Parisface including the RATP part its capital ... Transdev is also involved locally through the SEM it is a shareholder. It launched Marguerite, carsharing Nantes in April. What about the car at 1 €?
Certu ad in its monthly bulletin "Transflash" April 2009 that "The car 1 €" celebrates its first birthday. The opportunity for us to launch the debate on this concept already attracted some forty companies.

Positives:
- creating a bond of solidarity between the company and its employee
- if the company is located in the periphery or in the countryside (no line of transport), that employees live more than 4-5 km from the business (bicycle use complex), and away from each other with time free (no carpooling possible ),... then yes the concept is interesting in that participates in fleet renewal and facilitates access to employment
Negatives:
- what if the company does not meet the above conditions ....
- a great competition to Travel Plans (BDP)
- and always and everywhere more pub ...
